Details: The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, Hardwired Interconnect Combination Smoke & CO Alarm with Battery Backup, Voice Alert, Pack of 4, model KN-COSM-IBA, is an AC-wired, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120VAC power source with 2-AA battery backup. Using ionization sensor technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles; leading authorities recommend that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fires. The combination alarm provides reliable detection of carbon monoxide and smoke, even during power outages. The adjustable mounting bracket makes installation fast and easy, and it works with existing smoke and combination smoke and CO mounting brackets. Plus, with a front-load battery door, you can easily replace the backup batteries without removing the alarm unit from the mounting bracket.

In the event of an alarm, a red LED will flash and be accompanied by 3 long alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning that warns of fire, carbon monoxide, or low battery. The Hush feature silences the fire alarm for approximately 9 minutes. A green LED on the alarm will flash every 2 seconds when Hush is activated and canceled. These Kidde combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are capable of interconnection with select alarms, which means that when one connected alarm goes off, the other interconnected alarms also sound. A maximum of 24 Kidde devices can be interconnected in a multiple station arrangement but cannot exceed the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) limit of 18 initiation devices, of which 12 can be smoke alarms. With 18 initiating devices (smoke, heat, CO, etc.) interconnected, it is still possible to interconnect 6 strobe lights and or relay modules. UL Certified with a 10-year limited warranty.
